Summit MotorYachts is excited to announce the arrival of the new SUMMIT 54' - the inaugural planing hull motoryacht from the same parent company that has brought you the Krogen brand for over 40 years.
While the postponement of the Palm Beach International Boat Show has delayed her official debut, the team from Power & Motoryacht (PMY) magazine was on-hand at the offload of the SUMMIT 54' from the cargo ship, and then joined the delivery crew on her journey from Savannah, Georgia to Stuart, Florida.
One of the great things about what I do is that I get to spend time aboard the well-constructed yachts we build for our customers. For many years now I have had the opportunity to cruise with owners who are all over the world enjoying the cruising lifestyle. I also get to perform sea trials on newly commissioned hulls as we put them thru their paces before being turned over to their owner.
Sea trials were conducted last week on the Summit 54’, the flagship model of SUMMIT MotorYachts. True to her Michael Peters Yacht Design (MPYD) pedigree, the Summit 54’ performed flawlessly, achieving her design parameters of a cruise speed of 23 knots and WOT speed of 26 knots. As is typical, trials were conducted with half fuel and water, however instead of the usual 3-4 people on board, there were 15, making the trials a resounding success. Hull number one will be on display at the Palm Beach International Boat show March 26-29, 2020. Click here for a video of the sea trials.
